30. Under the rain [Rayman]

Rayman leaned against the wall and watched the group shelter itself from the rain. He didn’t want to go into the little hut. It was his and it would have only wakened memories… good ones… bad ones…
Jake peeked out of the door. Please not HIM…
“What’s the matter? Would you come this very day?”
Jake stopped and watched the view. Rayman was left out in the rain. Literally.
He looked to the red Rayian.
“Did she send you or did you come by yourself?”
“I’m here because of her, but she’s got nothing to do with it.”
So he was only here to make his life a living hell… The Rayian stared at the heavy clouds again.
Jake just wanted to go back into the hut, when Rayman started:
“She had said, she could do it… And I believed her… because I knew… I know that she could do it. Because she’s strong.”
He looked at Jake.
“Sometimes… I had the feeling, that she was even stronger than me…”
Jake answered only with a silent nodding and the fact that he didn’t go back into the little hut.
Rayman looked up at the clouds again.
“One day she… had changed.”
“Changed?” Jake looked into the hut again and closed the door.
“So many… bad things happened – and I don’t even know about them.”
He closed his eyes and smashed his fist against the wooden wall.
“By Polokus, I SHOULD know about them…”
Jake folded his non-existent arms, still nodding with an angry look upon his face.
Rayman looked at him.
“Is it that what you want to hear? That I messed it up?” it came out far more aggressive than he had planned. There was a little silence and Rayman calmed down, staring into the rain again.
“You know what?”
Jake stood there, listening, but still unimpressed.
“You’re right.”
Rayman was visibly surprised when Jake laid his hand ontop of Rayman’s torso as a small comfort and asked him to come in.
